About
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Homegrown Harvest is powered through the partnership of Hubs Peanuts, River Road Farm, Commune, and The CROP Foundation, and hosts a three-day food and music festival designed to address hunger, education, and health and wellness in our community.

Mission
Homegrown Harvest is dedicated to promoting the sustainability of Virginia’s farms, food, and culinary arts by fostering community engagement that educates, celebrates, and supports the Commonwealth’s rich cultural and agricultural heritage.
Net proceeds from the festival directly benefit three critical causes:
-
Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia: providing meals and resources to combat food insecurity.
-
The CROP Foundation: awarding scholarships to culinary students at Franklin and Southampton high schools.
-
T2 Fitness Foundation: supporting high-risk individuals in adopting healthier lifestyles.
During the festival weekend, students gain hands-on experience by working alongside some of Virginia’s top chefs and purveyors, learning practical cooking skills as well as hospitality and customer service. These experiences not only inspire a passion for food but also equip students with transferable life skills, opportunities that can truly change the trajectory of their future.
