ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
OUR MISSION: Homegrown Harvest strives to promote the sustainability of Virginia’s farms, food, and culinary arts through community engagement that
helps educate, celebrate, and support the Commonwealth’s rich cultural and agricultural history.
Homegrown Harvest, a 501(c)(3) and its partnership between Hubs Peanuts, River Road Farm, Commune, and The CROP Foundation, hosts a three-day food and music festival to address hunger, education, and health and wellness in our community.
The net proceeds raised during the festival will go directly to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia to combat food insecurity, to The CROP Foundation to provide scholarships to students in the culinary arts programs at Franklin and Southampton high schools, and to the T2 Fitness Foundation to help high-risk individuals adopt healthier lifestyles. During the festival weekend, students will work alongside some of Virginia's best chefs and purveyors to learn valuable cooking skills and receive training in hospitality and customer service, essential skills which translate to any profession. Experiences like this could change one's path and we are thrilled to provide opportunities like this for our local students.
